From time to time, the MFA receives calls inquiring about a specific check’s status. In the past, these calls have been received by various departments and personnel. In general, all calls should be directed to MFA Payables to determine if the check in question is valid.

If the check is valid, MFA Payables will provide information needed to satisfy the inquiry.
In the event the check is not valid, MFA Payables will advise the caller and request a copy of the check for our records. In addition, MFA Payables will provide the caller with contact information for the caller to pursue further action through agencies that investigate fraud.
